At Spec Central Films we understand that when there’s nothing to watch, we put on anything. This might be used as background noise or just a distraction, but some streaming services count this as engaged viewers actively enjoying their content. These video on demand platforms are looking at the numbers and basing their future content on them.

What does this mean for you? It means that they will continue to make more of the same, and you will continue to put on whatever you are slightly interested in because what you really want to watch, just isn’t being produced.

One way we have attempted to combat this is to give you, the audience, a voice. We want to hear from you. Spec Central Films will post loglines or synopsis of content that has been submitted to us, letting you know what’s on our table. You have the opportunity to voice your opinion and vote to tell us which story you want to see brought to life next, giving you, the viewer, all the power, which is how it should be.

If you think about it, when you go to a restaurant, and they don’t have what you want to eat, you leave and go find it somewhere else. Producers have always held all the cards and told you what they want you to eat and as we can see from previous union strikes, the producers aren’t always right. So, we wanted to give you the reigns and let you help us decide what to produce.
